  • 1. How do I become a member of The Sailing Club?
     

    Contact George Bennett and make an appointment to have a tour of our facility. Then you will need to provide us a completed membership application along with your payment. Payment can be received as a check, cash or by providing us your credit card information.

  • 2. How much does it cost to become a Club member?
     

    2019 Memberships are of two types:
    Individual: $1,279.50 ($1,200.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax)
    Family: $1,919.25 ($1,800.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax)

    2019 J80 Membership:
    Individual: $2,345.75 ($2,200.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax)
    Family: $2,985.50 ($2,800.00 plus 6.625% NJ Sales Tax)

    Guests are allowed at an additional $25.

  • 3. What are membership requirements?
     

    • To join the club, we require that you have already taken a Basic Keel Boat Course and obtained a NJ State Boating License. If you have not taken a course, we can offer the Basic Keel Boat Course on site.

    • To join our J80 class, the minimum requirement is the Basic Keel Boat Course and at least 1-year sailing experience. You may join as a Crew member

  • 4. What does The Club membership include?
     

    Invites to Club sponsored social events, access to Waterfront Bar, and use of our Club boats:
    • Four J24s
    • Two J80s

    J80 membership includes access to all club boats, including the J24s

  • 5. What if I don’t know how to sail?
     

    We are an Accredited US Sailing School. Once you complete the Basic Keel Boat course, you will enough of a background where we can further your practical learning and join the club.

  • 6. How do I schedule the use of The Club Boats?
     

    You can book your boat in advance on our website though the Peek booking system

  • 1. When are the courses offered?
     

    Basic Keel Boat
    Courses are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays, then again on weekdays based upon availability. Course schedule is subject to change. Please contact us for availability.

    Performance and Spinnaker Sailing
    Courses are typically held over a 3-day weekend (Friday-Sunday) and could be offered on weekdays based upon demand and availability. Course schedule is subject to change. Please contact us for availability.

  • 2. How long is the course?
     

    Basic Keel Boat:
    The course is 18 hours over a two-day period along with an online practical to be completed prior to your first day. During the 2 days, you will go over any questions from the online portion of your class and have both in classroom and on the water exercises and instruction.

    Performance and Spinnaker Sailing:
    The course is 24 hours over a three-day period. During the 3 days, there will be both classroom and on the water instruction. This course is geared

  • 3. How much do 2019 Hoboken Sailing School Courses Cost?
     

    Basic Keel Boat:
    $500 per person
    Cost includes study materials and certification

    Performance and Spinnaker Sailing
    $1,000 per person for the course
    Cost includes study materials and certification
